Lani's birthday weekend

Bloody brilliant weekend and bloody stressful too. My bestest pal Lani has never had a good birthday so I desperately went out of my way to make sure this one was good. Managed to piss a few people off but hey she was fine and that was the main thing.
Went to Inferno Friday night saw the lovely couple that is darkestinsanity and uvpaladin. Not a bad night. Managed an hours sleep before finally getting home, showering and going back out again. Vendetta this time before going to Slimelight. The music was actually pretty good at vendetta this time but had to restrain Lani from leaping over the bar to grab the nice looking barman.
Slimelight was ok but my ex turned up and upset his new girlfriend by trying to talk to me. I wish ex's wouldn't do that especially when you aren't even friends anymore. His girlfriend seems lovely and I only spoke to him to keep the peace. Later in the night my friend was very ill and I think I ended up staying with her a lot as she was asleep in between being ill.
Got home at about 9am on Sunday, dragged Lani with me - got my usual 'only 3 hours' sleep whilst Lani snored through about 5. Then washed up and went back to Angel for Combichrist. Trauma Pet was on first - didn't really do much for me - something missing. Xp8 were alright but was chatting through it to be honest. I liked Katscan. Combichrist was just sex. Not going to say much more than that or I'll get flustered. Will most definitely be seeing them at Slimes on the 17th... oh yes :-).

VNV Nation

VNV Nation were bloody fantastic. I've never been to a non-metal/rock/folk gig so was pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere and not being shoved or hit or trampled on (ok got an elbow to the head but he was very apologetic - used to being hit again for luck).
Anywho was totally spellbound and highlights were definitely Darkangel, Standing, Epicentre and Electronaut. And Ronan Harris is not just a great vocalist but his conversation was worth listening to as well. The amount of gigs I've been to and wished the singer would just shut up and sing lol.
Slimelight wasn't so great afterwards - everyone seemed miserable. Bunch o' moody goths lol. I was a little deflated to be honest but after a great gig I usually feel like that.
Now just looking forward to seeing Combichrist on Sunday - my first time seeing them too.

All change

mood:
contemplative
Well first entry
Sitting at home on a Friday night (very unusual for me) finally with wireless so can toast myself in front of the fire rather than try desperately to get online with my crappy PC in the cold room at back.
Contemplating...
Things are gonna have to change. I think I may have reached a crossroads. So I'm off to Canterbury tomorrow to light a candle in the Cathedral. Whenever I've lit a candle and I'm at a crossroads or need a sign I always seem to get what I most need at that moment - even if its just a particularly nice coffee when we pop to a Starbucks afterwards or something :-)
I dunno I'm in mourning for the old me but haven't quite got the new me suited and booted and ready to leave off from the death of the old me - you know.
Watch this space (or not you might go crosseyed)
